Typography Experiments

The below works were all produced for a typography class in Computation Arts. We were encouraged to explore typography from a number of different mediums.

The above two works were the result of a project where we were to take a poem we liked, and use it as a basis of typographic expression. The first image represents an abstract use of type as an expression of the meaning of the poem, whereas the second image represents a legible re-appropriation of the text.

The above three images were a study in finding type in places it did not normally exist. The students took pictures of letters both real and interpreted. The images were then formatted and printed out to be used in a typographic arrangement. The above three images are my approach to the arrangement.

The final work was a typography experiment done in flash, using the first line of text from William Gibson's cyberpunk gem Neuromancer. In order to view this file, make sure you have flash player installed on your computer. Download Link
